Tarab aims to revive the Egyptian performing arts sector, in a sustainable environment that is empowering to female artists through its different channels of operation. Noting the urgent need to preserve, document, and revive Egypt’s rich performance heritage, Tarab implemented several projects in order to achieve this aim:

Tawtheek, for the research, documentation, and eventually registration of Egyptian dance as a national intangible heritage in urgent need of safeguarding with Unesco.

 

Taqseem Institute for training future female performing artists in the disciplines of Egyptian dance and music as a way to safeguard, preserve and revive a tradition in danger of appropriation and extinction.

 

Tarab Productions for the production of Egyptian Dance and Music related performances and merchandise.

All of our projects work in tandem to preserve Egyptian performance heritage ensuring it’s continuity in the future.
